Vom 23. Oktober bis 1. November zeigen Jens-Christian Wittig, Cornè Theron und William Sweetlove in Frankfurt am Main in drei Einzelausstellungen unterschiedlichste, zeitgenössische Kunst.
Unter dem Begriff „Painted by a lens“ zeigt der in Weimar geborene Künstler Jens-Christian Wittig Werke einer ganz neuen Kunstrichtung. Wittigs Arbeiten nutzen in der Aufnahme und im Print zwar fotografische Techniken, sind aber von der Fotografie mittlerweile weit entrückt. Vielfach ist die Nähe zu malerischen Elementen und sophistischen grafischen Effekten zu erkennen. Die erzielte Vielschichtigkeit, Tiefe, Leuchtkraft und Farbspektren seiner Bilder sind durch Malerei und Grafik im klassischen Sinne kaum noch bzw. gar nicht zu erreichen.
1974 in Südafrika geboren, zählt Cornè Theron heute zu den Vertreterinnen eines modernen und international geschätzten Kunststils, der uns mit den klassischen Werkstoffen Ölfarbe und Leinwand in eine ganz eigene Welt des Wassers entführt. Seit Jahren schafft Theron Motive, die Dynamik, Bewegung und Spannung oder Kontemplation, Ruhe und Innehalten unter Wasser zeigen. Ganz eigen ist ihr dabei der Stil, den sie für sich entwickelt hat, indem sie Bilder in einer Pixeltechnik präsentiert. Sie zeigt in ihrer ersten internationalen Solo-Ausstellung 14 Werke unter dem Titel „AMA“. Ein besonderes Gastspiel.
Die Skulpturen bzw. Figuren von William Sweetlove bilden die dritte Ausstellung von KUNST(hoch)3 und das Enfant Terrible aus Belgien zeigt erstmalig solch eine umfangreiche Sammlung von Werken in Deutschland. Scheinen viele seiner Arbeiten auf den ersten Blick amüsant, so sind sie bei näherer Betrachtung mahnende Objekte, die Themen wie Klimawandel, Wasserknappheit und Klonen thematisieren.
„Wir sind sehr stolz, dass wir drei so hochkarätige Künstler nach Frankfurt bringen und gleichzeitig zeigen können. Wir haben die Mainmetropole letztes Jahr mit einem Kunstprojekt als sehr aufgeschlossen kennengelernt und eine tolle Ausstellung in den gleichen Räumen präsentiert. Wir wollen auch dieses Jahr mit starker Kunst Menschen begeistern, Menschen und Kunst verbinden, gerne auch Menschen, die bis dato keinen großen Bezug zu Kunst haben. Das macht mir immer wieder Freude, denn ich finde, Kunst muß erlebt werden, Kunst muß gesehen werden und Kunst muß unkompliziert und zum Greifen nahe sein!“, so Barbara Lenhard, Mitorganisatorin der Ausstellungen.
Frankfurt bekommt damit für zehn Tage, direkt neben dem Thurn & Taxis Palais, drei Ausstellungen auf insgesamt über 600 Quadratmetern. Der Eintritt ist frei!

Jens-Christian Wittig, Cornè Theron and William Sweetlove show in three separate exhibitions a wide variety of contemporary art in the center of the city – a visual enjoyment for really everyone who has meaning for beautiful things
The term „painted by a lens“ shows the artist Jens-Christian Wittig Works born in Weimar. Wittig’s work benefits in the recording and in the print while photographic techniques, but are now far from photography. In many cases, the proximity to picturesque elements and sophist graphic effects can be seen. The complexity achieved, depth, luminosity and color spectra of his pictures are hardly any or not achievable by painting and graphics in the classic sense.
Born in 1974 in South Africa, Cornè Theron is now one of the representatives of a modern and internationally esteemed art style, which kidnaps us with the classic materials oil paint and canvas into a very own world of water. For years, Theron motifs that show dynamics, exercise and voltage or contemplation, rest and pause under water. Your own is the style you’ve developed for yourself by presenting images in a pixel technology. It shows 14 works under the title „AMA“ in your first international solo exhibition. A special guest performance.
The sculptures or figures of William Sweetlove form the third exhibition of art (high) 3 and the enfant terrible from Belgium shows for the first time such a comprehensive collection of works in Germany. If many of his works seem amusing at first glance, they are subject to closer inspection, the topics such as climate change, water scarcity and cloning.
„We are very proud that we will bring three so high-profile artists to Frankfurt and show at the same time. We met the main metropolis last year with an art project very open-minded and presented a great exhibition in the same rooms. We also want to inspire people with strong art this year, combine people and art, also like people who have no great relation to art. That makes me happy again and again, because I find art has to be experienced, art must be seen and art must be uncomplicated and close to it! „, Says Barbara Lenhard, co-organizer of the exhibitions.
Frankfurt is thus available for ten days next to Thurn & Taxis Palais three exhibitions on a total of over 600 square meters. The entrance is free!
