Manchmal ist ein Nichts hinter allem, hinter dem dann aber wieder alles zu sehen ist.
Vieles was einfach erscheint, ist in Wahrheit komplexer, als wir es es vermuten würden. Wenn wir jedoch lernen, aktiv zu sehen können wir Stück für Stück mehr uns selbst erkennen. Wir tauchen immer mehr ein, tasten uns vorwärts in unser Unterbewusstsein – und werden doch nie das Ende finden. Warum auch? Was bliebe dann noch…?
Denn: Leben ist Streben nach mehr.
Die Bilderserie „Stripes Horizontal“ ist ein Sinnbild für Ambiguität und endlose Vieldeutigkeit, die zeigt, dass auch im scheinbar Einfachen eine nicht fassbare Komplexität, oft rätselhafte Vielschichtigkeit steckt, die sich nie vollständig entschlüsseln lässt.
Wir sehen horizontale Streifen. Je nach Abstand – endlos viele Streifen – farbgewaltige Streifen. Ein scheinbar einfaches Motiv.
Die Streifen ziehen magisch an und können zugleich verschrecken. Sie ruhen in sich und sind doch voll subtiler Dynamik. In jeder Betrachtungsdistanz erzeugen sie neue Tiefen – sind plötzlich nicht mehr simpel sondern unergründlich.
Basis der Bildreihe ist eine Form der digitalen Dekomposition und Neukomposition. Aus Fotos, die in Shanghai, Weimar, Santorin und Korsika entstanden, wurden regionstypische Farbsequenzen herausgelesen, und nach farb- und kompositionsästhetischen Maßgaben neu zusammengefügt. Vertrautes wird in eine völlig neue Perspektive gebracht.
Diese horizontale Defragmentierung wird im Werk „Perspective and Delusion“auf ein weiteres Level gehoben: Das Streifenkonzept wird hier aufgebrochen und in einen nicht greifbaren Horizont in der Bildmitte in Unschärfe aufgelöst. Neue Fenster werden darüber gelegt und schaffen nochmals neue Transformationen. Der Betrachter kann so noch weiter ins vermeintlich Innere schauen. Doch auch hier endet der Blick in der Unendlichkeit…
„Perspective and Delusion“ debütierte auf der Art Palm Beach – Next Level Fairs im Februar 2020 und fand große Resonanz. In Deutschland ist es zum ersten Mal im Dezember 2020 auf der Kunsthoch3 im Lenbach Palais München zu sehen.

Stripes Horizontal (2016 – 2020)

Sometimes there is nothing behind everything, but behind which everything can be seen again.
Much of what seems simple is actually more complex than we would assume. However, if we learn to see actively, we can gradually learn more about ourselves. We immerse ourselves more and more, feel our way forward into our subconscious – and yet we will never find the end. Why also? Then what would be left …? Because: life is striving for more.
The series of pictures “Stripes Horizontal” is a symbol of ambiguity and endless ambiguity, which shows that even in the apparently simple there is an incomprehensible complexity, often puzzling complexity that can never be fully deciphered. We see horizontal stripes. Depending on the distance – endless stripes – colorful stripes. A seemingly simple motif.
The stripes are magical and can be frightening at the same time. They rest in themselves and yet are full of subtle dynamics. At every viewing distance they create new depths – suddenly they are no longer simple but unfathomable. The series of images is based on a form of digital decomposition and recomposition. Color sequences typical for the region were extracted from photos that were taken in Shanghai, Weimar, Santorin and Corsica, and reassembled according to color and compositional aesthetic standards.
The familiar is brought into a completely new perspective. This horizontal defragmentation is raised to a further level in the work “Perspective and Delusion”: Here the concept of stripes is broken up and dissolved into an intangible horizon in the center of the picture. New windows are placed on top and create new transformations. The viewer can look even further into what is supposed to be inside. But here too the view ends in infinity …
“Perspective and Delusion” made its debut at the Art Palm Beach – Next Level Fairs in February 2020 and met with a great response. In Germany it can be seen for the first time in December 2020 at the Kunsthoch3 in the Lenbach Palais in Munich.
