Blau gilt als die Lieblingsfarbe der Menschen, die „Blaue Blume“ ist das Symbol romantischer Sehnsucht.
In Ägypten war Ägyptisch Blau unter dem Namen künstliches Lapis lazuli, und in Mesopotamien als geschmolzenes Lapis lazuli, bekannt.
Besonders das von Yves Klein bevorzugt verwendete leuchtende Ultramarinblau – lässt die Farbpigmente ungetrübt entfalten und suggeriert mit seiner matten, samtigen Textur eine unendliche Tiefe
Das „ewige Blau“, die weiten Farbräume und die Vieldeutigkeit der Farbe sind Gegenstand vieler Arbeiten von JCW.

Zwei Bewegungsrichtungen der Farbe Blau
Blau ist unter anderem, aber nicht nur die Farbe des Meeres. „Caspar David Friedrich hat sehr schön präzisiert, dass Blau zwei Bewegungsrichtungen erzeugt: in die Unendlichkeit der Ferne – in das Universums , und zum anderen in die Unendlichkeit des eigenen Ichs, des Unterbewusstseins“.

Overclouding Germany ist eines Serie aus der bislang 2 Werke veröffentlicht wurden. Es beschreibt die Klarheit einer Landschaft, die in kurzer Zeit überwölkt (overclouding) und vernebelt werden kann.
So werden Landschaftsbilder für JCW zur Allegorie von politischen und gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen.
Superpanoramen
Landschaftliche Motive werden durch JCW oft in Superpanoramen (SUPERPANOS) künstlerisch entwickelt. Perspektiven entstehen, die jenseits des menschlich möglichen Blickwinkels liegen.

Das Werk „Overclouding Germany “ avancierte schnell zum Bestseller. In den USA wurde es auf den Messen national und international verkauft. Destinatione wurden New York, Miami, Moskau und Abu Dhabi.
In search of the eternal BLUE
Blue is people’s favorite colour, the „blue flower“ is the symbol of romantic longing.
In Egypt, Egyptian blue was known as artificial lapis lazuli, and in Mesopotamia as fused lapis lazuli.
In particular, the luminous ultramarine blue preferred by Yves Klein – allows the color pigments to unfold unclouded and with its matt, velvety texture suggests infinite depth
The „eternal blue“, the wide color spaces and the ambiguity of color are the subject of many of JCW’s works.

Two directions of movement of the color blue
Blue is among other things, but not only, the color of the sea. „Caspar David Friedrich has very nicely specified that blue creates two directions of movement: into the infinity of the distance – into the universe, and on the other hand into the infinity of one’s own ego, the subconscious“.
