Natürlich möchte jeder Mensch am Bestehenden, am Gewohnten festhalten. Das Ungewisse, die Zukunft wird im Gedankengerüst gerne vermieden und ausgeblendet.
Doch der Wandel bahnt sich immer seinen Weg. Aufstieg und Fall, Tod und Niedergang sind Teil unseres Seins.
In der Bildserie CONSTANT FLUX spiegelt JCW in anmutender Ästhetik dieses Phänomen. Scheinbar schön sind die Bildwirkungen. Purpur und Gold sind die royalen Farben. – Doch wie immer ist der Hang zur Ambiguität in den Bildern auszumachen. Sehen ist perspektivisches Sehen – und alles hat viele Blickwinkel. So entstehen in jedem Betrachter seine eigene Interpretation des Bildinhaltes.

Under the guiding principle of inevitable change, our worlds and life structures are transformed.
Of course, everyone wants to stick to what is already there, to what they are used to. The uncertain, the future, is often avoided and hidden in the framework of ideas.
But change always paves its way. Rise and fall, death and decline are part of our being.
In the CONSTANT FLUX image series, JCW reflects this phenomenon in an appealing aesthetic way. The visual effects are apparently beautiful. Purple and gold are the royal colors. – But as always, the tendency towards ambiguity can be seen in the pictures. Seeing is seeing in perspective – and everything has many perspectives. In this way, each viewer has their own interpretation of the image content.

„DOWNFALL OFT THE MUSES“ lässt einen klassisch geprägtes Skulpturengerüst erkennen. Mit Fanfahren und starken Gebärden scheint dieses Arrangement für die Werte der westlichen Welt einzustehen: Freiheit, Kultur, Humanismus. Bildung… Eine Feuersbrunst lauert im Hintergrund und attackiert diese Figuration. Das Heroische begegnet dem Bedrohlichen.
Und in dem Sturm des Umbruchs erscheinen – nicht leicht erkennbar – neue Gesichter und künden von neuen Bildern der Zukunft und einer Reise in die Zukunft.

„DOWNFALL OFT THE MUSES“ reveals a classically shaped sculptural framework. With fan driving and strong gestures, this arrangement seems to stand for the values of the western world: freedom, culture, humanism. Formation… A conflagration lurks in the background and attacks this figuration. The heroic meets the threatening.
And in the storm of upheaval, new faces appear – not easily recognizable – and announce new images of the future and a journey into the future.
Legendäres Hotel „The Breakers“ in Palm Beach als Inspration
GOLDEN ENCOUNTERS wurde an einem legendären Ort inspiriert – dem weltweit bekannnten Hotel Breakers in Palm Beach Florida. JCW ist dort oft zugegen auf den Kunstmessen und bei Freunden und Kunden. Eine Welt, absentiert vom alltäglichen. Eine Welt voller Schönheit, Luxus und Schein. Die Welt des Reichtums und des Überflusses.
In seinem Werk wird ein Raum mit Unendlichkeit illusioniert. Fabelwesen treten auf und interagieren in ihrem eigenen Schein. Voller Doppeldeutigkeiten lesen sich die Bildelemente. Was ist Vision, was Intention, was Realität.
Es gleicht einer surrealen Oase und kontrastiert den turbulenten Betrieb der Kunstmessen, auf denen JCW auftreten durfte.
Der magische Ort ist ein opulentes Gesamtkunstwerk und wurde zur Inspiration für ein Werk voller Animation und Doppelsinn – für “GOLDEN ENCOUNTERS”.
Es geht um Schönheit und Illusion, um Schein und Wahrhaftigkeit.
Das Leben ist leicht
Völlig unprätentiös und mit lässigem Charme wurde ich hier jedes Mal empfangen. Die Welt der Schönen und Reichen, die Paläste des Geldes und des vermeintlichen Lebensglücks geben sich an diesem seltsam magischen Ort betont locker.
Barocke Pracht, als gäbe es nur diese eine Welt
Wer das “Breakers Hotel” besucht, verfällt leicht einem Anachronismus. Bin ich hier wirklich in Amerika oder doch im Rom der Renaissance? Auf einen einzigen Blick ist das Wesen dieses berühmten Ortes nicht zu erfassen – nicht in seinem Wesen, und auch nicht in seinem ganzen Schein. Jedoch: der Wille zur schillernden Illusion, zum barocken Laster, ist hier meisterhaft inszeniertes “Daily Business”.
Man begegnet hier Zauberwelten – und auch dem menschlichen Traum von einer heilen und andauernden schönen Welt.
Das vermeintliche Defizit an Historie des “neuen Amerikas” zur “alten europäischen Welt” (Ein latenter chronischer Schmerz?) wird hier bis ins Maximum ins Gegenteil verkehrt – und meisterhaft auf höchstem Niveau und voller Opulenz inszeniert und zelebriert. Ja wir haben Kultur, und die schaffen wir mit unserem Willen, uns ständig neu zu erfinden.
Der Hang der einstigen Erbauer zu maximaler Prachtentfaltung ist nicht nur in jedem Winkel der Architektur zu spüren – auch das illustre Publikum spiegelt bis heute perfekt die Absicht dieses Ortes wider.
In jedem Winkel sind ausladende Gesten der Impresarios dieses architektonischen und menschlichen Theaters auszumachen. Überall dort, wo die Sonne alles durchstrahlt, scheint es weiter, immer weiter zu gehen. Die schöne Welt mit ihrem schönen Schein scheint kein Ende zu kennen… So zumindest liest es sich hier.
Vermeintliche Fabelwesen treten auf die Bühne und interagieren mit ihrer eigenen Illusion. Im gleißenden Sonnenlicht leuchten sie wie Erscheinungen aus Tausendundeiner Nacht.
Voller Doppeldeutigkeiten präsentieren sich hier die Elemente. Und der Betrachter wird hineingezogen in die verwirrenden Verschiebungen von Raum und Zeit. Was ist Vision, was Intention, was Realität…?
Die besondere Art die Welt zu betrachten
Das Geld ist in Palm Beach immer schon in die besondere Art zu leben investiert worden: In Villen, in Hotels, in Kunst, in Yachten und große Feste… Opulente Extravaganz und “Dolce Vita” stecken hier in jedem Winkel.
Dafür ließ man die größten Architekten und Künstler der Welt nach Palm Beach kommen. Das macht diesen Ort bis heute aus. Und darauf besinnen sich die, nur scheinbar konservativ gesinnten, Menschen. Nicht nur mit lässigem Selbstverständnis, sondern auch mit einigem Stolz.
Wir sind hier, wir haben es geschafft! Wir leben ihn, den amerikanischen Traum!

VERSACE GRIEF – finds its roots in the legendary fashion designer and designer’s mansion on the boardwalk in Miami South Beach. A highly creative and likeable genius is snatched from life by the envy and resentment of a gunman. What remains is his Versace’s wonderful work, his world of fantasy and special patterns, but also the sadness, the pain of loss. All of this is reinterpreted from motifs from the Versace Villa in Miami.
It resembles a surreal oasis and contrasts with the turbulent hustle and bustle of the art fairs where JCW was allowed to appear.
The magical place is an opulent total work of art and became the inspiration for a work full of animation and double meaning – for „GOLDEN ENCOUNTERS“.
It’s about beauty and illusion, appearance and truthfulness.

Completely unpretentious and with casual charm I was received here every time. The world of the beautiful and the rich, the palaces of money and supposed happiness in life are deliberately relaxed in this strangely magical place.
Baroque splendor, as if there was only this one world
Anyone who visits the “Breakers Hotel” easily falls into an anachronism. Am I really in America here or in Renaissance Rome? The essence of this famous place cannot be captured at a single glance – neither in its essence nor in all its appearance. However: the desire for dazzling illusion, for baroque vice, is masterfully staged “daily business” here.
One encounters magical worlds here – and also the human dream of an intact and lasting beautiful world.
The alleged deficit in the history of the „new America“ to the „old European world“ (a latent chronic pain?) is reversed here to the maximum – and masterfully staged and celebrated at the highest level and full of opulence. Yes, we have culture, and we create it with our will to constantly reinvent ourselves.
The penchant of the former builders for maximum splendor can not only be felt in every corner of the architecture – the illustrious audience also perfectly reflects the intention of this place to this day.
Sweeping gestures by the impresarios of this architectural and human theater can be seen in every corner. Wherever the sun shines through everything, it seems to go further and further. The beautiful world with its beautiful appearance seems to know no end… At least that’s what it reads here.
